What is Dutas and what is it used for?
Dutas is a drug intended for the treatment of urination problems, such as trouble urinating or excessive urination. By preventing the production of a hormone known to lead to prostate enlargement (dihydrotestosterone), Dutas can improve the flow of urine and possibly decrease the risk of the patient needing a surgery at some point. Some patients may be prescribed Dutas for the treatment of hair loss.
Dutas safety precautions
For Dutas to be safe and efficient, you should follow the directions on the label of the medicine or those provided by the doctor. Dutas is not safe to be used by pregnant or breastfeeding woman, especially since it's intended for male patients only. You should not be taking Dutas if you have a history of an allergic reaction to dutasteride, as the same reaction is most likely to occur.
How to take Dutas
Dutas should be taken with some food or without. It usually takes up to three months for the patient to notice a considerable improvement in the symptoms or their partial disappearance. Throughout this entire period, Dutas must be taken at the exact dose prescribed and exactly as directed. For urination problems related to an enlarged prostate, Dutas should be taken once a day.
